Use & Care
Use & Care
A FLASKE is built to last for years. A few minutes of care a week keeps it fresh, leak-free and performing like day one.
After water, a quick rinse is enough. After coffee, tea, juice or a smoothie, clean it right away.
Daily cleaning
1. Wash
Warm water and a drop of mild soap. Wash the bottle, the lid and the seal.
2. Rinse
Rinse well, so no soap is left behind.
3. Dry with the lid off
Let it air dry upside down, lid off. Trapped moisture is what causes smells.
Deep clean
Once a week, or after coffee, tea, juice or smoothies, give your FLASKE a deep clean with a cleaning tablet. Fill it with warm water, drop in one tablet, wait 15 minutes, rinse and let it dry. No scrubbing, no harsh chemicals.

Dishwasher: yes or no?
Hand washing keeps your FLASKE looking new the longest. If you do use the dishwasher, these are the rules.
Dishwasher safeBottle, cup and food pot
Up to 60-65°C, lid off.
Hand wash onlyLid
Water gets trapped inside the lid and damages it. Wash lids by hand.
Hand washPrinted designs
Printed designs can fade in the dishwasher. Engraving is etched into the steel and does not fade.
Lids and seals
The O-ring is the small seal inside your lid. It does the leak-free work, and like any seal it wears with time. Check it every few months. A bottle that starts to leak, a seal that looks flat or cracked, or a smell that stays after cleaning means it is time for a new one.
Swapping takes a minute: pull the old ring out of the groove, wash the lid, and press the new ring in until it sits flat all the way round. Pick the set that matches your bottle.

Odours and stains
Coffee, tea and smoothies leave residue on the steel. Left overnight, that residue is what you smell the next morning. The fix is simple: a cleaning tablet dissolves the stains in 15 minutes and takes the smell with it. For stubborn spots, use the brush after the tablet.
The steel itself does not absorb flavours or odours. Once it is clean, it is clean.

Care questions
Can I put my FLASKE in the dishwasher?
Can I put my FLASKE in the dishwasher?
Yes, up to 60-65°C. Never the lid: water gets trapped inside and damages it. Printed designs can fade in the dishwasher. Engraving does not. For the longest life, wash by hand.
How often should I use cleaning tablets?
How often should I use cleaning tablets?
Once a week is a good rhythm. Use one sooner if you have had coffee, tea, juice or a smoothie in your FLASKE, or if you notice a smell.
Does the steel release chemicals, flavours or odours?
Does the steel release chemicals, flavours or odours?
No. FLASKE products are made from 18/8 food-grade stainless steel. They do not release chemicals, flavours or odours, even with hot drinks. What you taste is your drink.
My FLASKE smells. What now?
My FLASKE smells. What now?
A smell is residue, not the steel. Deep clean with a cleaning tablet, brush the inside, and let it dry with the lid off. Check the O-ring too: an old seal can hold on to a smell.
My bottle is leaking. Is it broken?
My bottle is leaking. Is it broken?
Usually it is the O-ring. Check that it sits flat in the lid and is not cracked or flattened. Replace it if it is worn. Still leaking with a new seal? Contact us, our leak-free promise applies.
How do I clean my food pot?
How do I clean my food pot?
Wash it with warm water and soap after every meal, including the lid and the seal, and let it dry open.
Can I use my FLASKE for sparkling water?
Can I use my FLASKE for sparkling water?
Yes. Do not fill it to the top and open it slowly, so the pressure can escape.
Can I clean it with baking soda or vinegar?
Can I clean it with baking soda or vinegar?
Yes. A mix of baking soda and warm water, or a splash of vinegar, works for a light clean. Rinse well. Do not use bleach or chlorine on stainless steel.
